Before You Design
| 1. | Know what soil type you have on your site. Different soils have different watering needs. |
| 2. | Your local water provider has annual rainfall data, conservation materials, and programs that can help you get the most water savings out of your landscape. |
| 3. | Because most landscapes are over-watered, you often can reduce irrigation water with little or no effect on plant vigor. In fact, many landscapes will benefit from less water—sometimes from reductions as great as 50 percent! |
